Job Title: Center Director
Reports To: Executive Director
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary:
This position is for the Pinehurst Preschool and School Age, two separate sites located at the Northgate Community Center and Hazel Wolf ESTEM Elementary school. The Center Director is responsible for their Center’s daily operations while partnering with the consortium at large. Center Directors further the mission and impact of the organization through successful program oversight. Two years' experience managing the Seattle Preschool Program (SPP) coupled with two years' experience as a Center Director are required. Candidates who do not meet these two qualifications will not be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following: *Other duties may be assigned

Manages the daily operations of a high quality, culturally relevant Preschool and School Age Center to ensure children and Teachers are provided with the tools they need to succeed. *

Manages the administration, planning, and curriculum development of their program, all which are founded in SCCS core values. *

Hires and supervises all Center staff and serves as a mentor to Teachers. *

Works closely with SCCS's Executive Director, Deputy Director, and Business Office in support of their Center's operations.*

Provides regular information and responses to the Business Office for timely services and reports for the center’s successes.*

Liases on behalf of their Center with the SCCS Business Office, communicating budget allocations.*

Monitors Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable for accuracy and timeliness. *

Develops strong working relationships with families and serves as the main contact for family inquries.*

Supports Teachers in delivering reflective curriculum using the Creative Curriculum, and establishing environments reflective of this practice.*

Organizes professional development, team building, family engagement, and family education opportunities.*

Tracks, maintains, and updates all program files including child paperwork, sign-in/sign-out records, staff files, and more.*

Engages in fundraising with support of the Deputy Director to help offset costs incurred by their Center.*

Manages the SPP contract and Coordinates with the SPP Enrollment Coordinator regarding child enrollment.*

Leads the recruitment process of new families to meet the enrollment needs of their Center.*

Ensures the safety of children, staff, and facility by adhering to the Emergency Preparedness Policy and updating emergency procedures as communicated by SPP, DCYF and SCCS.*

Communicates and addresses any violations of Human Resource policies and procedures.*

Collaborates with the school principal and other administrators on the Alignment Plan and other agreements and contracts.*

Ensures the compliance of policies and procedures, abiding by all rules and regulations set forth by licensors, funders, and SCCS.*

Communicates and addresses any violations of Human Resource policies and procedures.*

Supports Pinehurst local and regional partnerships.*

Assesses and communicates facility repairs and updates.*

Leads external communication with the SPP Education Specialist, SPP Coach, Seattle Parks Department, Public Health Nurses, School's Out Washington, and the DCYF Licensor.*
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages one subordinate supervisor who supervises the School Age Program. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of staff. Also directly supervises 13 employees (non-supervisory). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Paychex systems, Microsoft 365 and supporting applications, Procare, and City Grant Platforms.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university in Education or a related field; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Training:

Certificates and Licenses:

Driver's license

Obtain or currently hold certification in CPR, First Aid, and HIV/AIDS education instruction

Salary Range:
$100,000-$110,000

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

Commitment to SCCS's mission and shared values

2 years experience as a Center Director or 4 years experience as a Center Supervisor, or a Manager of a nonprofit agency or Center within an agency
-
2 years professional experience working with the Seattle Preschool Program

Experience leading teams of 5 FTE or more

Experience supporting various cultural, physical, social, and emotional needs of children and teachers

Leadership, planning, coordination, and supervisory skills required

Experience with Creative Curriculum, Reggio Emilia, and Early Achievers
